What is the PersID initiative?
- to guarantee persistent identification, persistent location and persistent access to electronci scholarly and cultural heritage resources.
The PersID initiative characteristics:
- national organisations collaborating to create an open infrastructure for persistent identifiers
- building an URN based infrastructure that is open to and interoperable with other systems
- focus on global participation and cooperation of the research and scholarly community
- exploring a viable business model for sustainable persistent identifier resolver services
- engaging in a shared policy and governance structure.
