Danmarks Elektroniske Fag- og Forskningsbibliotek - Denmark's Electronic Research Library (DEFF)

Denmark's Electronic Research Library (DEFF) is an organisational and technological partnership between research libraries co-financed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education. DEFF's purpose is to advance the development of a network of electronic research libraries that makes available their electronic and other information resources to the patrons in a coherent and simple way. This is obtained partly through government funding and partly by joint purchase of licenses. The Danish National Library Authority runs the secretariat of the partnership. www.deff.dk

Knowledge Exchange

Knowledge Exchange is a co-operative effort that supports the use and development of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) infrastructure for higher education and research. The Knowledge Exchange partners are: Denmark's Electronic Research Library (DEFF) in Denmark,German Research Foundation (DFG) in Germany,Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) in the United Kingdom, SURFfoundation in the Netherlands. SURFfoundation is initiator of innovation in higher education and research in the Netherlands. SURFfoundation unites research universities, universities of applied sciences, and research institutions. All of these collaborate on innovative projects to improve the quality of higher education and research. Det Kongelige Bibliotek - The Royal Library, Denmark

The Royal Library is Denmark's national library and university library for the University of Copenhagen.
As national library the institution administers the national cultural heritage of both Danish and foreign origin in terms of published works (books, periodicals, newspapers, leaflets), manuscripts, documents, maps, pictures, photographs and music in conventional or digital form. The institution provides optimal access to the collections on present day conditions for the purpose of research, studies and experiences, while at the same time making sure that the collections are preserved, secured and handed over to posterity. As a museum and cultural institution the national library mediates knowledge and experiences derived from its tasks and collections. In its capacity of national library the institution carries out research within the national library's tasks, functions, subjects and collections.
As university library the institution is main library for the University of Copenhagen and delivers professional and scholarly library service at the very highest level in support of education and research. www.kb.dk

Kansalliskirjasto - National Library of Finland

The National Library of Finland is the oldest and largest scholarly library in Finland. It collects and preserves printed Finnish cultural heritage, as well as Finnish contents on the web. The National Library also serves as a national service and development centre for the library sector and promotes national and international cooperation. Division of National Library Networks Services provides libraries and other organizations with a number of services in the fields of library systems, cataloguing, institutional repositories, etc. It also provides URN services in Finland. www.nationallibrary.fi

Kungliga biblioteket - National Library of Sweden

The National Library of Sweden has been collecting virtually everything printed in Sweden since 1661. We also collect TV and radio programs, movies, videos, music, multimedia recordings and digital resources on the Swedish part of the Internet. The National Library is a humanities research library that purchases scholarly literature in several languages. We coordinate services and programs for all research libraries in Sweden and administer and develop LIBRIS, the national library catalogue system. We also provides services for persistant identifiers such as ISBN and URN:NBN.  www.kb.se
